Women Entrepreneurs Organization
of Washington to Recognize Two
Outstanding WEO Members With
WEO Entrepreneur of the Year and
WEO Rookie of the Year awards
The Women Entrepreneurs Organization of Washington (“WEO”),
a group of over 150 Washington businesswomen who meet monthly to
share knowledge, network, and to support each other’s businesses,
will award two of its members with the WEO Entrepreneur of the Year
Award and the WEO Rookie of the Year Award. The WEO members will be
honored with their awards at the next monthly meeting of WEO on
February 21st, 2007 at the Heathman Lodge, 7801 NE Greenwood Drive,
Vancouver WA 98662.
The WEO Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes a successful
businesswoman and member who has shown dedication to WEO through
volunteer efforts and leadership and who has had a positive impact
on the organization. The WEO Rookie of the Year Award will be given
to the WEO newcomer who has been inspiring other WEO businesswomen
in the way she runs her business, launching it, getting through the
hurdles of starting her own business and then being a benefit to WEO,
such as bringing new members to WEO, promoting WEO and volunteering
time and energy.
Last year’s recipient of the WEO Entrepreneur of the Year Award was
LaVaune Cowl, owner of Automated Office Services, Inc., who has
served as Treasurer for WEO for most of the years she has been a WEO
member. The WEO Rookie of the Year Award is a new recognition award
and has not been previously awarded.
About WEO: The Washington chapter of WEO was established in 1996
after a group of 20 businesswomen from the Vancouver area decided to
break off from the Portland, Oregon Chapter. WEO serves as a support
network for its members who benefit from an intra-membership
exchange of ideas and business know-how.
