Need a Headboard? We Have Solutions.
If you’re like a lot of folks, you may not have headboards in every bedroom; they’re expensive (starting at around $150 for a twin sized to over $1000 for a pretty upholstered number). Then, once you’ve thrown all the pillows on the bed, who really notices the headboard anyway … right? Well, take a look at what Naked Room Solutions Decorating Coach Annie Johnson created for two of her kids’ rooms. Both headboards were made using our Quick-Change Headboard Kit and create a colorful backdrop as the focal point of each room. And the cool part is that the fabric is easily removed and changed when the mood strikes or when tastes change. Our headboards are so easy to put together – here’s how: Depending on the size of the mattress, our kits contain several polyurethane foam pieces and everything you need to make the headboard except the fabric. The foam pieces are glued together using our special foam glue then tucked and wrapped in fabric. The fabric is folded to the back of the headboard and pinned in place. The headboard in the boy’s room is first covered using a white drapery panel purchased at a local linen superstore for around $20. The denim stripes just tuck into the headboard’s tuck grooves. Annie used fabric that mirrored the tropical theme in her daughter’s room. She then made a “cap” to give each headboard a finished look.
Each headboard was nailed to the wall (six fine nails were used for the twin size and nine fine nails were used for the standard double size) – voila – a headboard.
