Bank Erosion Requires Lane Restriction on NW Hayes Road

Stream bank erosion caused by the North Fork Lewis River has undermined part of NW Hayes Road in northwest Clark County. Beginning today, January 25, Clark County Public Works has restricted travel to one lane in that area to protect public safety and allow engineers time to study the problem and develop repair options.

The single-lane restriction begins northeast off Cardai Hill Road. Vehicles using the area must stop at stop signs placed on either end of the area and yield to oncoming traffic. The lane closure is marked with orange tubular markers, and the roadway has been re-striped to reflect the change.

This lane restriction will remain in effect until further notice.
