Open Houses
to Provide Information
on Preliminary Flood Maps

The Federal
Emergency Management Agency has re-examined Clark County’s flood zones
and prepared preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). Clark County
will assist FEMA in holding open houses on January 23 and 24 to provide
the latest information about the maps
and how changes may affect residents and business owners in flood zones.
The open houses will
offer an opportunity to determine which properties are affected and
learn more about the maps and related matters such as flood insurance.
The preliminary maps will be available for review. FEMA and Clark County
staff also will be available to answer questions.
Open houses will be
held on:
§
January 23, from 6 to 8
p.m. at Clark County Fire District 11 Station, 21609 NE 72nd
Ave., Battle Ground
§
January 24, from 6 to 8
p.m. at the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.,
sixth-floor hearing room, Vancouver.
Property owners in the
flood zones have been individually notified of the open houses and their
ability to comment on the mapping process. Those unable to attend may
contact Mark Damon, at the telephone number or e-mail address listed
above for additional information.
Property owners wishing
to protest or appeal the information shown on the preliminary flood map
should submit an application and supporting data to:
